Austria has a small but growing Baseball community, with 1 leagues and 7 teams competing across the country. The Austrian Baseball Bundesliga serves as the top domestic competition, and the sport has developed steadily since its introduction in the post-war period. Baseball remains a niche pursuit compared to football and skiing, but it maintains a dedicated following, particularly in Vienna and other major cities.

Baseball was introduced to Austria by American occupation forces after the Second World War. The game developed slowly through informal play and gradually became organised, leading to the establishment of the Austrian Baseball Federation in 1979 and the launch of the Bundesliga in 1983. Austrian baseball has grown from a handful of teams to a structured league system with clubs across the country.

The Österreichischer Baseball und Softball Verband is the governing body for Baseball in Austria, managing the domestic league system, national team programme, and youth development initiatives. The federation is a member of the WBSC and the Confederation of European Baseball.

The Vienna Wanderers are among the most successful clubs in Austrian Baseball, with multiple Bundesliga titles. Other notable clubs include the Attnang-Puchheim Athletics and the Dornbirn Indians. Austrian baseball clubs operate on amateur or semi-professional budgets and rely on community support and volunteer involvement.

Austria has participated in the European Baseball Championship at various pool levels and continues to develop its competitive standard within the European baseball community. While Austria has not yet broken into the top tier of European baseball nations, the national team programme has shown steady improvement.
