The 30-year-old right-hander has been solid through 22 games (108.2 IP, 73 strikeouts, 1.26 WHIP). He last pitched August 14, throwing 7.0 scoreless innings with three hits allowed in a 1-0 Rainiers win — one of his best outings of the season. Mosser relies on a knuckleball and has held opposing hitters to a .250 batting average in 2026.

Sacramento: TBD The River Cats used Seth Lonsway (4.0 IP, 5 ER on Tuesday) and a bullpen game (Houston Roth 3.0 perfect innings then 6 relievers on Wednesday). Sacramento's probable pitcher had not been confirmed at the time of writing. Given the bullpen game Wednesday, a traditional starter like RHP Anthony Molina (0-0, 3.60 in limited Triple-A work) or RHP Mason Black (5-5, 4.81) could be available.

Perfect game hangover. Tacoma's pitching carried a perfect game into the sixth inning Wednesday before Sacramento exploded for nine runs in the sixth and seventh frames. How the Rainiers' bullpen — especially Charlie Beilenson and Scott Effross — responds after Wednesday's six-run seventh will be critical.

Mosser vs Sacramento's lineup. Mosser relies on weak contact rather than strikeouts (6.0 K/9). Sacramento's hitters, particularly Bo Davidson (.310+ with power) and Grant McCray (on-base machine), feast on mistake pitches. • INF Ryan Bliss — Broke Tacoma's franchise stolen base record earlier this season (now at 96 career steals with the Rainiers). Has 24 steals in 2026, tied for sixth in the PCL.

Sacramento:

• OF Bo Davidson — Named PCL Player of the Week (August 10-16). Has been the heart of the River Cats' order with consistent run production.
• OF Scott Bandura — Hit the game-turning three-run homer Wednesday that flipped a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 lead. Eight home runs on the season.
• RHP Gabe Mosser's opposing number — Whoever starts for Sacramento needs to give length after a taxing bullpen game Wednesday.

Sacramento enters as the strong favourite at home with momentum and a 16-game edge in the standings.
