LG Twins vs NC Dinos

LG starter Park Si-won lasted just 1⅔ innings as NC scored in each of the first four frames. Park Min-woo opened the scoring with a first-inning RBI single, and Kim Joo-won — who went a perfect 5-for-5 — added an RBI in a three-run first.

The Dinos blew it open in the second. Kim Hwi-jip and Matt Blaine delivered back-to-back RBI hits, and Cheon Jae-hwan doubled home another run. By the time the inning ended, NC led 7-2 and Park Si-won was out of the game.

LG briefly answered in the bottom half, scoring once in the first on a Shin Min-jae RBI double and cutting the deficit to 7-3 in the third on a sacrifice fly from Park Si-won himself. But NC tacked on two in the third (Cheon Seong-ho triple, Park Min-woo double), one in the fourth (Kim Hyung-joon RBI single) and three more in the sixth.

Toda (W) worked five innings, scattering eight LG hits while walking just one, before the NC bullpen closed it out across four scoreless frames.

NC's four-run second inning. Leading 3-2 after one, a string of six consecutive Dinos reached base against Park Si-won in the second, forcing LG to the bullpen before the stadium PA had even announced the second out. The inning turned a one-run lead into a 7-2 advantage, and LG never got within four again.

Kim Joo-won (NC) — 5-for-5, 2B, RBI, 3 runs, SB. The NC shortstop recorded his first career five-hit game, reaching base in all six plate appearances.

Kim Hwi-jip (NC) — 4-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 runs, HBP. The third baseman reached base five times and was involved in both the early rally and the late cushion.

Park Min-woo (NC) — 3-for-4, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 runs, 2 SB. The veteran second baseman delivered the game-winning RBI in the first and added a two-run double in the third.

Toda Natsuki (NC) — W, 5 IP, 8 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, K. The Japanese right-hander earned his first KBO win since joining the Dinos rotation.

NC's 20 hits were the most any KBO team recorded on Thursday. The Dinos had six extra-base hits (four doubles, a triple) — all 13 runs without a home run. LG managed 10 hits but left five on base and walked only once. One error per side: Ahn Jung-yeol for NC (first), Jo Won-tae for LG (sixth).

NC stole five bases, including two by Park Min-woo. LG starter Park Si-won took the loss, allowing seven earned runs on 10 hits in fewer than two innings.

NC avoided a series sweep after dropping the first two games. The series ended 2-1 in LG's favour. LG next play Hanwha Eagles on Friday 28 August; NC face the same Hanwha club in a separate series beginning the same day in Daejeon.

NC answered getting blown out on Wednesday by returning the favour on Thursday — with interest. Twenty hits without a single home run tells the story: line-to-line contact that overwhelmed a struggling Park Si-won and never let LG breathe. The Dinos still have ground to make up in the standings, but this is the kind of offensive performance that can shift a clubhouse mood.
