Cameroon's 39-31 rebounding advantage — particularly 15 offensive boards — was the statistical backbone of the win. Toyounon's 12 rebounds (5 offensive) were a microcosm of Cameroon's physical edge.

Cameroon finished Group C with a perfect 3-0 record following wins over Senegal (60-30) and Nigeria (75-74), securing the top seed heading into the quarter-finals. "I'm very happy with the victory," Cameroon coach Ange Lonteu told FIBA. "What they proposed today was really surprising. It was tough; it was difficult to win." She added: "Finishing first in our pool means we won't face the hardest team right away."

Tlemcani acknowledged the difference: "Cameroon was very aggressive, which affected our play, just as they beat us on the rebound."

A game of two halves. Tunisia controlled the tempo early with smart perimeter play; Cameroon's physicality and defensive adjustments took over after the break. Toyounon's interior dominance proved the difference, and Cameroon's depth — seven players scoring — gave them the edge in a tournament where stamina is at a premium. The result confirmed Cameroon as a genuine contender in the knockout stage, even if their eventual quarter-final exit would deny them a medal.
