Mustafa Rashed (Bahrain): Rashed led Bahrain's scoring with 21 points against Oman on 8/13 shooting and stepped up again as a secondary ball-handler and scorer when UAE's defence keyed on Sampson.

DeMarco Dickerson (UAE): The American-born guard was the engine of UAE's offence throughout the tournament, averaging 27 points per game entering Friday. His ability to create his own shot kept UAE in the game, but he lacked sufficient support in the clutch moments.

Omer Alameri (UAE): The Shabab Al Ahli forward, who scored 23 points against Nepal on 7/13 three-point shooting, was counted on for home-court energy but found fewer clean looks against Bahrain's disciplined closeouts.

Bahrain entered the game averaging 106 points, 44 rebounds and 27 assists per game while shooting 68.4% on two-pointers and 41.9% from three — elite numbers built partly against an overmatched Oman side. UAE averaged 92.5 points on 58.5% two-point shooting and 32.9% from deep. Friday's tighter contest reflected a more competitive ceiling: neither side hit those gaudy early averages, but Bahrain's superior depth and ball movement in the half-court translated to cleaner looks in the game's biggest moments.

Bahrain (2-0) leapfrog UAE (2-1) for top spot in Group A, with both teams well positioned to reach the Second Round — the top three from each group advance. UAE face Nepal on Sunday, August 30, while Bahrain face Nepal the same day. The group concludes with a pivotal Bahrain-Kuwait clash on Monday, August 31, followed by UAE-Oman. With Kuwait on 1-1 after beating Nepal 88-65 on Friday, the race for the top two spots remains alive.

Bahrain passed their toughest test of the first round with a composed road win that confirmed the promise of Thursday's rout. UAE, running on fumes after three games in four days, showed fight but lacked the finishing polish of a team still gelling under Ben Slimane. The rematch in the Second Round — if these two meet again — will be well worth watching.
