Bayamon controlled the opening quarter, shooting out to a 25-17 lead behind Jassel Pérez's early playmaking. The defending champions carried that momentum into a 40-36 halftime advantage after Aguada tightened defensively in the second period (19-15).

Aguada chipped away in the third quarter, winning it 30-28 to enter the final frame trailing just 68-66. The visitors then took the fourth period 19-17, knotting the score at 85-85 and forcing the first overtime of the series.

Overtime belonged to Bayamon initially. A 4-0 run pushed the hosts ahead 93-88 with 3:22 remaining, and the Coliseo crowd sensed a 3-0 series stranglehold. But Aguada head coach Rafael "Pachy" Cruz called a timeout that changed everything.

Aguada won the rebounding battle 49-48 and generated 52 points in the paint, attacking the rim consistently against Bayamon's interior defence.

Manny Camper (Aguada) — 14 points and 7 rebounds, plus the game-sealing free throw. His two-way energy in the closing minutes steadied a Santeros side that could have folded.

Aguada's 49-48 edge on the glass doesn't tell the full story: they grabbed several offensive rebounds in the fourth quarter and overtime that extended critical possessions. Their 52 points in the paint exposed a Bayamon defence that had been dominant through Games 1 and 2.

Bayamon's 25-point quarter in the first period suggests they had the firepower to bury this series early. However, their scoring declined in each subsequent period (25, 15, 28, 17, 8 in OT), a sign that Aguada's defensive adjustments — switching more aggressively on screens and loading the paint — took effect as the game wore on.

Aguada avoided the 3-0 hole that no BSN team has ever overcome in a finals series. The Santeros, who finished the regular season at 17-17 (third in Group B), now head home for Game 4 on Sunday, August 16, with genuine momentum.

Bayamon (22-12, first in Group A) still leads the series 2-1 but missed a chance to effectively end the final. The Vaqueros entered the game having won both prior meetings in the series: 91-75 at home in Game 1 and a dramatic 87-86 road win in Game 2.

Game 4 tips off Sunday at 8:00 PM local time in Aguada. A Bayamon win restores their two-game cushion; an Aguada victory levels the series at 2-2.

Aguada showed the backbone of a champion that won the 2019 title. Down 0-2 and on the road, they answered every Bayamon run, imposed their will in the paint, and executed under pressure in overtime. The series is now a contest. Bayamon has to prove they can close.
