Fuerza Regia vs Freseros

Fuerza Regia won each of the first three quarters to build a commanding lead before Freseros took the final frame.

The home side set the tone early, closing the first quarter up 25–21. They stretched the lead to 11 at halftime (53–42) and pushed the margin to a game-high 20 points during the third quarter, which they won 31–24. Freseros outscored Fuerza Regia 28–21 in the fourth, but the 18-point deficit entering the final period proved insurmountable.

Fuerza Regia's first-half dominance across both ends of the floor. Coach José Neto's side shot efficiently, found scoring from multiple sources, and held Freseros at arm's length despite Franger Pirela's 24-point effort. The backcourt tandem of Bamforth and Josh Holmes combined for 51 points, creating mismatches that Irapuato's defence could not solve. By the time Freseros adjusted in the fourth quarter, the margin was already too wide.

Scott Bamforth (Fuerza Regia) — 29 points, 2 rebounds. The American guard, returning from injury, was the game's most valuable player. He received an ovation from the Arena Mobil crowd and was the primary offensive engine for the hosts.

Josh Holmes (Fuerza Regia) — Added approximately 22 points, combining with Bamforth for 51 of Fuerza Regia's 105 total.

Franger Pirela (Freseros) — 24 points, leading the visitors' scoring even in a losing effort.

The quarter-by-quarter splits tell a clear story. Fuerza Regia's cumulative lead grew every period through three quarters (from +4 to +11 to +18), a pattern of sustained control rather than a single hot streak. The 21 points they allowed in both Q1 and Q2 show a defence that tightened as the game progressed. Freseros' 28-point fourth quarter was their best offensive period, but it came against a Fuerza Regia side that had already emptied the bench — the visitors won the garbage-time frame but lost the game by 11.

Fuerza Regia improved to 5–3 in the LNBP 2026–2027 season, winning their third consecutive game. Freseros dropped to 2–6. The two teams meet again in Game 2 of the series on Sunday 16 August at 16:15 local time — also at Arena Mobil — where Fuerza Regia will look to complete the sweep.

This was as straightforward as a 105–94 final can be: Fuerza Regia led wire-to-wire, controlled the pace, and had the best player on the floor in Bamforth. Freseros showed fight in the fourth quarter but were outclassed through the first three. Game 2 will test whether Irapuato can adjust or whether Monterrey's depth and home court prove too much again.
