With 3:00 left, Citron buried a three-pointer to make it 74-69, and the Mystics closed the game on a 9-1 run, holding the Sparks to just 12 points in the quarter on 4-of-13 shooting.

Washington's defence tightened considerably in the final 10 minutes: after allowing 19 points in the third quarter, the Mystics conceded only 12 in the fourth while shooting 56% from the floor themselves.

Sonia Citron (WAS) — Game-high 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting, including four three-pointers, plus eight assists and six rebounds. She orchestrated the offence in the clutch and hit the dagger three with three minutes left.

Shakira Austin (WAS) — 17 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double, anchoring the paint on both ends. Her go-ahead layup with six minutes remaining swung the momentum irreversibly.

Kiki Iriafen (WAS) — 19 points and eight rebounds off the bench, providing a crucial scoring spark in the first half and third-quarter comeback.

Rae Burrell (LAS) — A team-high 20 points for the Sparks, including multiple three-pointers in the first-half surge. She was quiet in the fourth quarter as Washington's defence locked in.

Washington (20-14) remains in the upper half of the WNBA standings heading into a Wednesday home game against Toronto. The Mystics had won seven straight before their Vegas losses, and this bounce-back win keeps them firmly in the playoff picture.

For Los Angeles (12-22), the playoff path is narrowing fast. Four straight losses and 11 defeats in 13 games have dropped the Sparks near the bottom of the league. They visit Connecticut on Tuesday before returning home to face Chicago. The absence of Cameron Brink (ribs), who sat out after sustaining an injury against New York two days earlier, leaves a significant gap in their frontcourt rotation.

A game that felt competitive for three quarters was decided by a single dominant period. Washington's fourth-quarter defence and Citron's playmaking turned a tight contest into a comfortable win. For the Sparks, the pattern is now familiar: they compete for 30 minutes but lack the closing punch to finish games.
