Luhe-Wildenau vs Vilzing

Vilzing needed just six minutes to open the scoring. N. Leipold fired the visitors ahead, and the floodgates opened immediately. M. Mihaylov doubled the lead in the 18th minute before former Luhe-Wildenau striker Erol Özbay — returning to his old stomping ground — made it 3-0 in the 27th minute.

Mihaylov grabbed his second of the night nine minutes later, and Arafat Al Haj rounded off a devastating first-half display with the fifth goal in the 40th minute. The hosts went into the break 5-0 down and faced an uphill task.

Vilzing picked up where they left off after the interval. P. Grauschopf made it six in the 50th minute, and M. Ziereis added a seventh in the 74th. Luhe-Wildenau finally got on the scoresheet through N. Argauer in the 84th minute, but by then the damage was long done.

The match was effectively over inside the opening half-hour. Özbay's goal against his former club — a reminder of the gulf in class between the two divisions — made it 3-0 before the game had even settled. Vilzing's four-goal burst between the 18th and 40th minutes turned a competitive fixture into a formality.

M. Mihaylov was the standout performer, scoring twice inside the first 36 minutes and causing constant trouble for the Luhe-Wildenau defence with his movement.

Erol Özbay scored against his former side and was a constant menace on the left flank. The forward, who left Luhe-Wildenau for Vilzing in 2024, had been highlighted in the build-up as a player to watch — and he delivered.

P. Grauschopf added a goal after the break and was involved in much of Vilzing's best attacking work from midfield.

The 5-0 half-time scoreline tells the real story: Vilzing's efficiency in the final third was ruthless. With seven different scorers, the visitors spread the goals across the team — a sign of the depth Thorsten Kirschbaum is building in his squad. Luhe-Wildenau struggled to create clear chances against a significantly higher-tier opponent, though Argauer's consolation finish in the 84th minute gave the 210-strong crowd at least one moment to cheer.

Vilzing advance to the Höhbauer-Cup final on Saturday 4 July, where they will face either TSV Kareth-Lappersdorf or SpVgg Bayern Hof in the showpiece match at Michael-Höhbauer-Stadion (16:00 kick-off). For Kirschbaum's side, this was their opening pre-season fixture — a sharp statement of intent after two weeks of training in hot conditions.

Luhe-Wildenau, who play in the Landesliga Mitte (sixth tier), will take part in the third-place play-off on the same day. The hosts have now lost all three of their pre-season friendlies ahead of the new campaign.

This was never a contest between equals: a Regionalliga side against a Landesliga opponent rarely is. But Vilzing's execution was clinical, the scoreline fully merited, and the fixture served its purpose as a sharp workout before higher-stakes tests. Luhe-Wildenau's consolation goal at least gave their supporters something to hold onto.
