Wacker Burghausen vs Schalding-Heining

Burghausen started brightly and created the first big chance inside two minutes. Noa-Gabriel Simic found Jordi Woudstra in the centre, but the striker lifted his effort over the bar from a promising position. Schalding responded through Fabian Schnabel, whose shot was saved by Marcel Brinkmann with his foot.

Woudstra headed wide from a Louis Stegmiller cross in the ninth minute, but the hosts' pressure told in the 17th minute. Jannis Turtschan delivered a low cross from the right and Moritz Leitner forced the ball over the line at the near post, with goalkeeper Marius Herzig unable to keep it out despite getting a hand to it.

Herzig twice denied Burghausen a second goal, saving from Simic (22') and Leitner (24'), before Schalding-Heining struck back. Brinkmann parried a central free-kick but Niklas Heininger reacted quickest to tuck away the rebound in the 29th minute. Heininger almost put the visitors ahead from a corner ten minutes later, only for Stegmiller to clear off the line.

Matthias Ostrzolek made seven changes at half-time, replacing the entire outfield bar a few, and Burghausen controlled the second period without creating clear chances until the 73rd minute. Nineteen-year-old Leopold Forstpointner picked the ball up near the halfway line, shrugged off Christoph Szili's challenge, sprinted goalwards and finished coolly past Herzig.

Simic rattled the crossbar with a 30-yard free-kick in the 79th minute, and Schalding-Heining punished that miss immediately. A swift counter-attack through the centre released Thomas Flieher, whose perfectly placed shot into the far corner made it 2-2 with ten minutes to play.

But Burghausen had the final say. Timothee Diowo, introduced as a substitute in the 65th minute, collected the ball inside the box and lobbed Herzig in the 88th minute. Deep into stoppage time, Dinkler repeated the trick with another clever chip to make the scoreline 4-2.

Diowo's 88th-minute lob was the decisive moment. Until then, Schalding-Heining had twice fought back from a goal down and looked capable of leaving Burghausen with a creditable draw. Once Diowo restored the lead, the game opened up and Dinkler added the fourth in stoppage time — a margin that flattered Burghausen's overall dominance but reflected their persistence.

Moritz Leitner scored the opener, worked Herzig with another effort, and played the full 90 minutes across both halves. Leopold Forstpointner produced the individual moment of the match — a 50-yard solo run and composed finish to put Burghausen 2-1 up. Timothee Diowo made the decisive contribution from the bench with his 88th-minute lobbed winner.

For Schalding-Heining, Niklas Heininger was a constant threat, scoring the equaliser and almost adding a second from a corner, while Thomas Flieher took his goal expertly on the counter.

The 4-2 scoreline was Burghausen's second pre-season win after a 6-0 thrashing of SV Aschau am Inn and a third-place finish at the SILOKING-Cup in Kirchanschöring. The two goals conceded will concern Ostrzolek — both came from set-piece and transitional situations — but the ability to score four, with six different players already on the scoresheet across pre-season, suggests the attack is ahead of the defence in fitness terms at this early stage of summer preparations.

Burghausen's pre-season build-up continues with three wins from three outings. The Regionalliga Bayern side have not yet announced their next friendly fixture but will be aiming to tighten defensively before competitive action resumes. Schalding-Heining, who finished 13th in the Bayernliga in 2025/26 with 38 points, remain in early pre-season preparation under coach Heiko Schwarz.

The reverse fixture from February 2026 — a winter friendly — ended 4-0 to Burghausen, making it back-to-back pre-season wins over the same opposition this calendar year.

A typical pre-season friendly with plenty of goals, frequent rotation and jaded defending. Burghausen's depth told in the closing stages, but Ostrzolek will want fewer passive spells before the Regionalliga season begins. For Schalding-Heining, the willingness to fight back twice against a side one division higher was the most encouraging sign.
