Vysočina Jihlava vs Vrchovina

Jihlava led 4-0 at half-time and never looked back. Ibrahim Usman opened the scoring in the 15th minute and doubled the lead ten minutes later. Miroslav Křehlík made it 3-0 on 33 minutes, and Tomáš Franěk added a fourth just 60 seconds later — three goals in a devastating four-minute spell.

The pattern continued after the restart. Sambou struck in the 49th minute and again on 75, before David Štětka (81) and Tyrese Omotoye (83) rounded off the scoring. Vrchovina, playing their first pre-season friendly of the summer, offered little resistance.

Usman's second goal in the 25th minute effectively settled the contest before the half-hour mark. Having already broken the deadlock ten minutes earlier, the striker's strike made it 2-0 and forced Vrchovina to push forward, leaving space for the three-goal blitz that followed inside four minutes.

Ousmane Sambou — 2 goals (49', 75'). The winger carried his threat into the second half with a clinical brace.

Tyrese Omotoye — 1 goal (83'). Rounded off the scoring with a late strike.

The 8-0 scoreline reflects a chasm in match sharpness as much as quality. Jihlava's fifth pre-season friendly came at the end of a four-day training camp; Vrchovina's first pre-season match was played with a squad containing several trialists and youngsters who had only met three days earlier. Jihlava coach Marek Nikl acknowledged his side created "a lot of chances" but lamented their finishing, suggesting the margin could have been wider.

Jihlava's pre-season record now reads four wins from five (victories over Žižkov, Slovácko, Příbram and Vrchovina; defeat to Erzgebirge Aue on 1 July). The 2026/27 Chance Národní Liga campaign begins later this month. Jihlava's next and final pre-season friendly is against top-tier FK Pardubice at home on 18 July — a dress rehearsal for the competitive season.

Vrchovina, who finished 7th in the MSFL (third tier) in 2025/26, will use this result as a fitness-building exercise. They face a further pre-season programme before their league campaign begins.

A mismatch in every sense — fitness, preparation and quality. Jihlava did what a side two divisions higher should do against an opponent playing its first friendly of the summer. The scoreline tells the story accurately, but the real test comes against Pardubice next weekend.
