Cardiff City U21 made it back-to-back pre-season games without defeat after a 1-1 draw with Poole Town. They face Yeovil Town away on Saturday 18 July, followed by a run of fixtures against Chelsea U21, Torquay United, Manchester City U21, Liverpool U21 and Fulham U21 across the next month.

Bath City are next in action at Twerton Park on Saturday 18 July when Plymouth Argyle visit for a pre-season friendly.

A professional, efficient performance from Cardiff City U21 against a senior side that had the better of possession but not the decisive moments. Bath City will take encouragement from spells of control but need to sharpen their final-third work before the Southern League campaign begins. Bartlett's admission that reinforcements are still needed suggests the squad is a work in progress, which is precisely what pre-season is for.
