Wolfsberger AC took just six minutes to assert their dominance. New arrival Giacomo Vrioni opened the scoring from close range after a flowing move. The Bundesliga side doubled their lead in the 20th minute through Sky Schwarz — a summer signing himself — who finished smartly to make it 2-0.

Vrioni grabbed his second on the stroke of half-time (45'), turning in from inside the box to send the WAC into the break with a 3-0 lead.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Donis Avdijaj, the high-profile summer arrival from Hartberg, scored his first goal for the club in the 53rd minute, curling a shot past the Kapfenberg goalkeeper to make it 4-0.

S. Karamoko added a fifth in the 65th minute before Kapfenberg pulled one back almost immediately — the away side's consolation goal arriving in the same minute. But Markus Pink, the veteran WAC striker, restored the four-goal cushion in the 77th minute, rounding off the scoring at 6-1.

No cards were issued during the match.

Vrioni's 45th-minute strike — his second of the half — effectively killed the contest just before the interval. Kapfenberg had weathered the early storm after going 2-0 down, but conceding a third goal on the stroke of half-time left the second-tier side with no platform from which to build a comeback. The floodgates opened in the second half, with WAC adding three more goals inside 24 minutes.

Giacomo Vrioni — The new signing was the standout player, scoring twice in the first half (6', 45') and leading the line with physical presence. His movement caused constant problems for the Kapfenberg defence.

Donis Avdijaj — The Kosovo international scored his first goal for the club in the 53rd minute with a composed finish, showing flashes of the quality that made him a key transfer target from Hartberg.

Sky Schwarz — Another summer arrival, Schwarz scored the second goal (20') and looked lively on the flank throughout. The Kleine Zeitung noted in their match report that "the new players especially put themselves in the shop window" — and Schwarz was at the forefront.

Kapfenberg's 65th-minute consolation was their only meaningful attacking moment of the match.

The win continues WAC's strong pre-season form under Thomas Silberberger. Kapfenberg, who compete in the Admiral 2. Liga, continue their preparations. They face SK Treibach in the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup on 25 July 2026 before their league campaign begins.

A routine pre-season win for WAC against a lower-division opponent, notable chiefly for the performances of the club's new signings. Vrioni's double and Avdijaj's debut goal will encourage Silberberger that his summer recruitment is bedding in effectively. Kapfenberg will take little from the result beyond fitness minutes against a much stronger side.
