Sigma Olomouc vs Al Sadd

Sigma head coach Pavel Hapal made four changes at half-time, sending on Janošek, Kliment, Tkáč and Noumbissie. The impact was immediate. Within two minutes of the restart, Václav Sejk charged down a clearance and was brought down by a defender as he closed in on goal. The referee pointed to the spot, and Janošek stepped up to send the keeper the wrong way.

"It was the whole team's merit," Janošek told the club's website after the match. "Sejk was fouled, then it was just up to me. I try to practise penalties. I'm glad I converted and helped the team to a win."

Péter Baráth — The Hungarian midfielder scored the opening goal with a composed finish and was a steady presence in the centre of the park before being substituted.

Dominik Janošek — Introduced at half-time, he scored the winning penalty and was decisive in the final third. Named player of the match.

Roberto Firmino — Al Sadd's most dangerous player. The former Brazil international created the equaliser for Mujica and was a constant threat from the right flank.

Rafa Mujica — The Al Sadd striker took his goal clinically, punishing Sigma for a momentary lapse in concentration just before the break.

Sigma dominated territorially for most of the match, particularly in the first half where the game was played predominantly in Al Sadd's half. The Czech side created several clear chances after the break — Jan Kliment drew a sharp save from substitute goalkeeper Balideil, David Tkáč headed narrowly over the bar in the 73rd minute, and Louis Lurvink forced another stop from Balideil with a header deep in stoppage time. Al Sadd, by contrast, relied on sporadic counter-attacks led by Firmino and were limited to few clear openings beyond the equaliser.

Sigma Olomouc finish their pre-season programme with a winning record from their Austrian training camp. They open the new Chance Liga season on Sunday 26 July away to Jablonec (17:30 kick-off). Al Sadd, the reigning Qatar Stars League champions, continue their own pre-season build-up under head coach Razvan Lucescu.

"It's an important result heading into the league," Janošek added. "The training camp fulfilled its purpose. We tried out the things we've been working on. For our confidence, it's only good."

A functional pre-season win for Sigma, who looked the sharper side and created the better chances across 90 minutes. The quick response after half-time showed the depth Hapal can call on. Al Sadd had moments of quality, chiefly through Firmino, but lacked the sustained pressure to trouble Sigma after the interval. The Czech side look ready for their league opener.
