Grazer AK vs Dynamo Dresden

Grazer AK started the brighter side, creating the first chances of the match and forcing Dynamo goalkeeper Tim Schreiber into action. But after 15 minutes, Dynamo took control of possession and never relinquished it.

Sterner's 27th-minute opener settled any early nerves. Grazer AK had started confidently, but once Dynamo scored, the 2. Bundesliga side dominated. The 2-0 lead at the 60-minute break meant Stamm could rotate his entire squad without pressure, and the second XI matched the first's output with three goals of their own.

"Very satisfied, because everyone came through healthy," Stamm told DynamoTV after the match. "Another clean sheet, also important. We saw two very balanced 60-minute halves. But we conceded too many chances in the first half — we were lucky there."

New signing Ben Bobzien, who joined Dynamo on Thursday, made his debut in the first half.

The 5-0 scoreline against top-flight Austrian opposition is emphatic on paper, but the match was more competitive than the margin suggests. Grazer AK created early chances before Dynamo's quality took over. The two completely different XIs (one per 60-minute period) each contributed to the scoreline, reflecting squad depth. Dynamo Dresden have now won all four pre-season friendlies this summer, scoring 27 goals across those matches and conceding none. Stamm's side will continue their training camp in Windischgarsten until Thursday before returning to Dresden. Their next test is a closed-door XXL friendly against FC Energie Cottbus on 25 July, followed by the season opener and public presentation against 1. FC Union Berlin on 1 August at the Rudolf-Harbig-Stadion. The 2. Bundesliga campaign begins on the weekend of 7-9 August.

Grazer AK, who secured their Austrian Bundesliga survival on the final day of last season, face a quicker start: the Austrian Cup first round next weekend, followed by a league opener against champions Linzer ASK.

A convincing pre-season performance from Dynamo Dresden, but the scoreline flatters the dominance slightly — Grazer AK had their moments early on. Stamm's rotation policy worked seamlessly, with both XIs contributing goals. The 2. Bundesliga side look well-prepared, but Sterner's moment of magic was the clear highlight in an otherwise workmanlike training camp exercise.
