Vasas vs Fehérvár FC

The first half was a tight, tactical affair between two sides using the game as their final pre-season test. Fehérvár created the first notable chance in the 17th minute when a Kovácsréti cross deflected off Spandler Csaba for a corner. Urblík József and Horváth Rajmund both had shots blocked shortly after, while at the other end, Nagy Dominik's dangerous 23rd-minute delivery whisked across the face of goal just beyond Németh Dániel. The sides went in goalless at the break.

Fehérvár head coach Pető Tamás made three substitutions at half-time — Kelemen Dávid, Zsótér Donát and Berekméri-Szigeti Ádám entered the pitch — but it was Vasas who struck first. The decisive moment arrived in the 60th minute. Horváth Rajmund delivered a left-wing cross into the box and Koszta Márk met it first time, steering the ball into the bottom-left corner beyond the reach of Kemenes.

Fehérvár pushed for an equaliser. Derekas had a shot from the right saved by Vasas substitute goalkeeper Engedi in the 67th minute, and substitute Bartusz was denied twice — first by a defensive clearance in the 74th, then when a cross was inadvertently turned onto him by the goalkeeper but the ball bounced wide in the 75th. Hesz Olivér, Cipf Dominik, Menyhárt Bence and Kovács Dominik all entered late, but the visitors could not find a way through.

The game was drifting towards a likely stalemate when Horváth's pinpoint cross from the left flank unlocked the Fehérvár defence. Koszta's clean connection — a first-time finish into the far corner — was the only moment of real quality in the final third. The goal came just after Vasas had started to assert more control in the second half, and Fehérvár were unable to recover.

Koszta Márk (Vasas) — the match-winner with a composed, well-taken finish. His movement to lose his marker and meet the cross at the right moment was the difference between the sides.

Horváth Rajmund (Vasas) — provider of the assist with a dangerous left-wing delivery. His crossing threat was a consistent outlet for the hosts.

Kemenes Botond (Fehérvár) — made several solid saves, notably from Urblík in the 48th minute, and could do little about the goal. Kept the scoreline respectable.

Derekas (Fehérvár) — one of the visitors' more threatening players, forcing a sharp save from Engedi in the 67th minute.

The 1-0 scoreline reflects a game of few clear-cut chances. The first half was particularly tight, with both sides cancelling each other out in midfield. Vasas grew into the second half and created the better opportunities after the break. Fehérvár's inability to convert their possession into genuine goalmouth danger — despite the introduction of four attacking substitutes — was the defining trend. The clean sheet was Vasas' first in pre-season after a run of high-scoring friendlies (5-1 vs Kecskemét, 3-1 vs Komárno, 3-1 vs Kisvárda).

The match was the final pre-season friendly for both clubs. Vasas — promoted back to the NB I after winning the NB II title in 2025-26 — begin their top-flight campaign on 25 July against defending champions ETO FC Győr. The win caps a strong pre-season for Erős Gábor's side, who won four of their five summer friendlies.

Fehérvár FC, now competing in the NB II following relegation, start their season on the same date (25 July, 19:00 CEST) at home against HR-Rent Kozármisleny at the Sóstói Stadion. Pető Tamás's side conceded just one goal but lost this final dress rehearsal, having won three of their four previous pre-season matches.

A tight, competitive friendly that served its purpose for both sides. Vasas showed defensive solidity and the ability to win a close game — traits that will serve them well in the NB I. Fehérvár will be encouraged by their organisation but will need more cutting edge in the final third when the competitive action begins.
