Coach Rafał Górak made 10 substitutions at half-time — only Łukasiak remained on the pitch — and the changes barely disrupted the rhythm. Belarusian forward Ilya Shkurin, introduced at the break for Zreľák, scored the third in the 57th minute from a Szymon Bartlewicz assist.

Bartosz Wolski made it 4-0 in the 78th minute, and Borja Galán added a fifth just 60 seconds later. Shkurin then took over, converting a one-on-one chance in the 84th minute before completing his hat-trick in the 89th minute with a close-range finish.

The 57th-minute third goal — Shkurin's first — effectively ended any lingering competitive tension. Świt had held firm for 20 minutes after the restart, but once Shkurin converted Bartlewicz's pass, the floodgates opened. Four goals followed in a 12-minute spell that turned a comfortable lead into a rout.

The 7-0 scoreline reflected a gulf in class between Poland's top flight and the third tier, but the manner of victory will encourage Górak. GKS scored in every phase: an early opener, a set-piece-style build-up for the second, and four goals in the final 12 minutes. The 10 half-time changes — only forced sub Łukasiak stayed on — meant the entire match squad got minutes, a classic pre-season tactic for building fitness. Świt managed no reply across 90 minutes.

This was GKS Katowice's first of six pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2026/27 Ekstraklasa season and their upcoming UEFA Conference League qualifying campaign. GKS finished mid-table in the 2025/26 Ekstraklasa and will face Arka Gdynia in their next friendly on 28 June 2026.

Świt Skolwin, who compete in the II liga (Polish third tier), will resume their own pre-season schedule with fixtures yet to be confirmed. The result is a reminder of the step up they would face if they progress through the divisions.

A routine pre-season workout for GKS Katowice against severely outmatched opposition. Shkurin's hat-trick and the sheer volume of goals — seven from six different scorers and a hat-trick — suggest sharp finishing in the final third. Świt will face tougher tests as their preparation continues, but this was exactly the kind of confidence-building exercise Górak needed for his squad ahead of competitive action.
