MTK Budapest vs Kazincbarcikai

MTK dominated the opening exchanges. Kata forced a save from Kocsis in the 8th minute and Klausz tested the keeper from 16 metres in the 24th, but the breakthrough came two minutes later.

26' — Jurek (1-0): The winger cut inside from 17 metres and curled a left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner beyond Kocsis's reach.

29' — Jurek (2-0): Klausz won the ball high up the pitch and laid it off to Jurek, who shaped a first-time left-footed finish into the net from 16 metres.

31' — Szőke (2-1): Kazincbarcikai pulled one back immediately when Szőke glanced a header inside the right post from a cross.

36' — Jurek (3-1): Zubor fed Jurek on the edge of the box; one feint beat his marker, and a powerful right-footed drive took a slight deflection off a defender on its way in.

45' — Jurek (4-1): Klausz swung a cross to the far post where Jurek rose to plant a header into the net, completing his four-goal first half on the stroke of half-time.

80' — Ikoba (4-2): Kazincbarcikai reduced the deficit late on when Eduvie Ikoba's shot took a touch from Kovács Patrik but still found the net.

The game was effectively settled inside seven first-half minutes. After Kazincbarcikai had halved the deficit to 2-1 through Szőke (31'), MTK responded instantly through Jurek's third and then added a fourth before the break. The visitors had no answer to MTK's attacking intensity in that spell.

• Jurek Gábor (MTK Budapest) — Player of the match: A perfect exhibition of finishing variety: two left-foot strikes, a right-footed effort and a header. The 22-year-old summer signing from DVTK told Nemzeti Sport afterwards that the stability of his new contract had helped him relax and focus on his game.

• Klausz (MTK Budapest): Instrumental in the build-up, directly assisting two of Jurek's goals (the second and fourth) and winning the ball that led to the second.

• Eduvie Ikoba (Kazincbarcikai): Scored a consolation in the 80th minute in what reports suggest was his farewell appearance for the club before departing at the end of June.

MTK's four first-half goals came from 19 minutes of relentless pressure between the 26th and 45th minutes. Kazincbarcikai had spells of possession in the second half but created little of substance until Ikoba's late strike. The half-time scoreline of 4-1 accurately reflected the gulf in sharpness: MTK fielded a strong first-choice XI for the opening 45 minutes, while the visitors' second-half lineup — featuring trialists and fringe players — struggled to impose themselves.

This was MTK Budapest's first pre-season outing of the summer, with head coach Pinezits Máté expected to rotate heavily across their upcoming friendlies. MTK face Vasas on 1 July and Kecskeméti TE on 4 July before departing for a training camp in Slovenia (6–11 July), where they will face Celje, Cserkaszi LNZ and Koper.

For Kazincbarcikai — relegated from the top flight last season — this was part of their rebuilding process under manager Kuttor Attila as they prepare for life in NB II.

A one-sided first half decided by one man. Jurek's four-goal salvo suggests MTK have landed an exciting attacking talent, but pre-season caveats apply: Kazincbarcikai were disjointed, especially after wholesale changes at half-time. The scoreline flattered the visitors slightly — the game was over by the 45th minute.
