Pogoń Siedlce vs Unia Skierniewice

The first half ended goalless, though chances existed at both ends. Pogoń's wideman Cezary Demianiuk saw two shots blocked, and trialist defender Valentine Nweke — a 19-year-old on trial from III liga side Górnik II Zabrze — headed wide from a corner. At the other end, Pogoń goalkeeper Jakub Tomkiel made several sharp saves to keep the score level.

Tomkiel twice rescued Pogoń shortly after the hour mark, tipping a shot wide and then denying a Unia forward in quick succession. But the resistance broke in the 64th minute when a Unia trialist cut in from the right side of the penalty area and fired home.

Pogoń almost levelled two minutes later: captain Damian Szuprytowski's free-kick found Damian Jakubik, whose header crashed against the crossbar.

Unia doubled the lead in the 76th minute — another trialist, who had hit the crossbar just two minutes earlier, this time placed his shot over the goalkeeper and inside the far post. The move was quickly followed by a third in the 79th minute: Kamil Sabiłło raced through on goal after a through-ball and slotted past the Pogoń keeper to make it 3-0.

Unia could have added a fourth, but the home goalkeeper produced a double save from Sabiłło and a Unia trialist to keep the final scoreline respectable.

The opening goal in the 64th minute, scored by an unnamed trialist, fundamentally changed the game. Until then, Pogoń had matched their higher-ranked visitors — Tomkiel's saves and Jakubik's crossbar header (66') showed the game was finely balanced. Once Unia scored, Pogoń had to push forward, creating the spaces that allowed the visitors' trialists and Sabiłło to exploit on the counter.

Jakub Tomkiel (Pogoń Siedlce) — Made several excellent saves in the first hour and was arguably the only reason the score stayed 0-0 until the 64th minute. Could do little about any of the three goals.

Kamil Sabiłło (Unia Skierniewice) — Scored the third goal with a composed finish from a through-ball and could have had another but for a double save. His movement stretched the Pogoń defence throughout the second half.

Unia trialists (Unia Skierniewice) — Two unnamed players scored the opening goals and a third hit the crossbar. Manager Kamil Socha will have been impressed by their contributions.

Cezary Demianiuk (Pogoń Siedlce) — Pogoń's most threatening player in the first half, seeing two shots blocked. Created the home side's best chances before half-time.

Pogoń Siedlce fielded a mixture of established starters and trialists in a pre-season rotation. The home side made eight substitutions across the two halves, while Unia also heavily rotated, particularly using trialists in attacking roles.

Both teams had meaningful chances — Jakubik's crossbar header (66') was the closest Pogoń came to scoring, while Unia also hit the woodwork through a trialist (74'). The decisive factor was finishing: Unia's trialists and Sabiłło converted three of their clear chances, while Pogoń's final ball and execution in the box fell short.

The 0-0 halftime scoreline accurately reflected a cautious, even opening period. The three-goal second half was a product of Pogoń's defensive lapses after the first goal and Unia's sharper edge in transition.

For Pogoń Siedlce, this was their first pre-season outing ahead of the 2026-27 I liga season, which begins on 25 July 2026 at home to ŁKS Łódź. Head coach will take lessons from the defensive disorganisation after the hour mark.

For Unia Skierniewice, newly promoted to Betclic 1 Liga after winning the III liga group I, this was a confidence-building start. They face further friendlies before their league campaign begins. The result also carries sentimental weight for coach Kamil Socha, who returned to a club where he previously worked.

Pogoń Siedlce's next scheduled friendly is away to Jagiellonia Białystok on 4 July 2026.

A pre-season friendly dominated by trialists on both sides, but the result was no fluke: Unia Skierniewice were sharper in both boxes after the break. Pogoń Siedlce have work to do on defensive transitions before the real action starts in late July.
