Liptovský Mikuláš vs Podhale Nowy Targ

Bartoš's early opener settled any pre-season nerves. The Polish visitors had yet to find their rhythm — this was their first friendly of the summer — and falling behind inside 12 minutes forced them onto the back foot. Staš's second goal before the half-hour mark effectively killed the contest.

Róbert Bartoš — opened the scoring with a composed finish in the 12th minute and led the press from the front. The striker's movement caused Podhale's defence problems all half.

Tomáš Staš — capped a lively midfield display with the second goal in the 24th minute, driving forward from deep to arrive in the box at the right moment.

Slančík — the home goalkeeper was not heavily tested but remained alert when called upon, keeping his first clean sheet of pre-season.

The 2-0 scoreline flattered neither side — Liptovský Mikuláš dominated the opening half-hour and managed the game professionally after the break. Podhale offered little in the final third, a reflection of their early-stage fitness and unfamiliarity with the Slovak opposition. The hosts created the clearer chances and, unlike their 2-2 draw with Lehota pod Vtáčnikom eight days earlier, converted their first-half superiority into goals.

Liptovský Mikuláš — third in the MONACObet liga last season (48 points from 30 games) — continue their summer build-up with a third friendly away at FK Poprad on 1 July. Podhale Nowy Targ, who play in the Polish Betclic 2. liga after promotion in 2024/25, now know the level required in their remaining pre-season fixtures.

A routine pre-season workout for Liptovský Mikuláš, who did their damage early and coasted through the second half. Podhale will benefit from the minutes but have work to do before their league campaign begins.
