The win gives Babelsberg early momentum after finishing the 2025–26 season with three wins from their final four league matches. Preussen, who finished mid-table in the 2025–26 Regionalliga Nordost, will look to tighten up defensively after conceding twice in a seven-minute spell.

Babelsberg's next pre-season fixture has not been confirmed at the time of writing. BFC Preussen face further friendlies against Oberliga Nord sides as they finalise their squad ahead of the new season.
