Segesta took control inside 13 minutes. New signing Petar Brlek — who joined from HNK Cibalia in the summer window — opened the scoring with a finish from inside the box. Ten minutes later, V. Gec doubled the lead, and Brlek struck again in the 37th minute to make it 3–0 at half-time.

The second half followed the same pattern. M. Radoš added a fourth in the 62nd minute, L. Kožić made it five in the 65th, and D. Špehar completed the scoring in the 70th minute. All six goals came from open play. No cards were shown across the 90 minutes.

Brlek's 13th-minute opener set the tone. A newly assembled Segesta side, still building chemistry during pre-season, would have been vulnerable to an early setback. The 6–0 scoreline reflects a mismatch of preparation phases rather than a gulf in class. Segesta, who won the Druga NL title in May 2026 and secured promotion to the SuperSport Prva NL, played with the sharpness of a side deep into pre-season. Dubrava, an established Prva NL side, struggled to create meaningful chances. The clean sheet continued Segesta's strong defensive record in pre-season — the club had not conceded in their first three warm-up matches according to earlier reports.

Segesta Sisak won the Druga NL (third tier) in the 2025/26 season, clinching the title on 23 May 2026 with a victory over Hrvatski Dragovoljac. They are promoted to the SuperSport Prva NL (second tier) for the 2026/27 season — the same division as Dubrava Tim Kabel. This pre-season friendly was therefore a dress rehearsal for a league fixture that will carry real points later in the campaign.

Segesta's next pre-season friendly is against NK Jesenice (Slovenia) on 22 July 2026. Dubrava's pre-season schedule continues ahead of the Prva NL season, which is expected to begin in August 2026.

A statement performance from Segesta. Brlek's double on debut suggests the new signing could be a key figure in their return to the second tier. Dubrava will want to erase this result quickly, but the scoreline — six different goalscorers, a clean sheet — points to a Segesta side that has hit its pre-season stride at the right moment.
