Chojniczanka nearly completed the turnaround when Konrad Janicki headed against the post, but Miedź had the final word. In the 135th minute — the last action of the match — Marcel Mansfeld pounced on a goalmouth scramble to secure the win.

Żywicki's 100th-minute equaliser shifted the momentum decisively. Chojniczanka, having been outplayed for the opening 30 minutes, had fought back to parity and then hit the post through Janicki. A 2-2 draw would have felt like a moral victory for the II liga side against a promotion favourite. But Mansfeld's late intervention in the 135th minute — from a chaotic goalmouth scramble — flipped the narrative back to Miedź.

They open their Betclic 1 Liga campaign at home against Podbeskidzie Bielsko-Biała on 24 July — a fixture that will test the defensive solidity that briefly wavered against Chojniczanka. Coach Janusz Niedźwiedź will have selection decisions to make after fielding academy players in the third period.

Chojniczanka, coached by Marek Brzozowski, used this friendly as a final test before their II liga season starts on the weekend of 25-27 July. Brzozowski said after the match: "We are mega happy that we played against such a demanding opponent. One of the favourites for promotion to the Ekstraklasa, an incredibly strong physical and quality team."

A pre-season friendly that delivered more drama than most. Miedź's early quality was undone by a spirited Chojniczanka fightback, and only a 135th-minute scramble saved the hosts from a draw. The II liga side will take more confidence from this performance than the I liga hosts, who will need to sharpen up defensively before the season starts.
