Concarneau took control inside 20 minutes. Captain Picouleau, found by Gbellé on the left, delivered a pinpoint cross that Janno met to open the scoring (19'). The former Stade Briochin striker doubled his tally 15 minutes later, again combining with Gbellé before slotting a composed finish past the Pontivy goalkeeper (34').

Pontivy GSI pulled one back before half-time through Laraba (41'), making it 2-1 at the break. But Concarneau restored their two-goal cushion six minutes after the restart when Da Silva converted after Janno's initial shot was parried (51').

Devialle-Corbière headed home from a poorly-cleared corner (76'), and substitute Hocquet rounded off the scoring in stoppage time, finishing from Rosier's cutback (90+1').

Concarneau's response after Pontivy's goal just before the interval was telling. Manager Stéphane Moulin later told Ouest-France that his side "should have had three goals ahead at half-time" — and they came out with that intent, scoring the decisive third goal within six minutes of the restart. Da Silva's finish from close range (51') extinguished any hope of a Pontivy comeback.

The 5-1 scoreline, built on a 2-1 half-time lead, reflects a game that was closer on the scoreboard than on the pitch for the opening 45 minutes. Concarneau's three second-half goals demonstrated superior fitness and depth — Moulin made multiple substitutions around the hour mark, introducing Daou, Rosier and Varvat (60'), followed by four more changes (70'), yet the intensity did not drop. Pontivy's single shot on target that beat Viot came from their only sustained attacking spell before the break.

This was Concarneau's sixth and final pre-season friendly. The Ligue 3 side will open their competitive campaign at home against Orléans on Friday, 7 August (20:45 CET) at Stade Guy Piriou. Their pre-season run — a 2-1 win over Laval (25 July) and this 5-1 victory, alongside earlier results including a 1-0 win over Guingamp — suggested a side well-prepared for the season ahead.

For Pontivy GSI (National 2), the result served as a reality check against higher-level opposition as they continue their own pre-season programme.

A pre-season friendly rarely tells the full story, but Concarneau's attacking fluidity and squad depth looked sharp. The movement between Janno, Da Silva and the wide players caused problems Pontivy could not solve. If this performance carries into the Orléans fixture, Moulin's side will be confident of starting the season on a positive note.
