Silkeborg-Voel started confidently and led throughout the first half. Maria Holm opened the scoring inside the first minute, and the visitors built a 10–7 advantage by the 20th minute. Maja Edling (seven goals, 87.5% efficiency) and Natasja Andreasen (five goals, four assists) caused consistent problems for the Viborg defence.

Viborg pulled back to 12–14 at the break, with Simone Petersen contributing five goals and Marielle Martinsen already looking dangerous in the playmaker role.

The match swung decisively in the second half. After Edling made it 20–20 at 49:38, Viborg responded with a crucial unanswered burst. Martinsen scored twice in three minutes (44:21, 46:20) to put Viborg ahead 21–20 — their first lead since 3–2 in the 7th minute. From there, the home side never trailed again.

The killer sequence came between 52:55 and 55:18. After a Viborg timeout called by head coach Anders Cramer Friis, Martinsen scored her seventh and eighth goals of the match to stretch the lead to 27–23. Trine Østergaard Jensen added a fast-break finish to make it 26–23 after a Silkeborg-Voel turnover. Goalkeeper Stine Broløs even capped the scoring with a rare outburst goal in the 59th minute (29–25).

Viborg's defensive adjustment at half-time transformed the match. After conceding 14 first-half goals on just 23 shots, Viborg held Silkeborg-Voel to 11 goals from 24 attempts after the break. Goalkeeper Stine Broløs, who replaced Louise Bak Jensen at 18:17, made seven second-half saves — a 46.67% save rate compared to a combined 26.32% in the first half.

With Broløs anchoring the defence, Viborg unlocked their transition game: 11 counter-attack goals (six in the second half) against Silkeborg-Voel's four.

Marielle Martinsen (Viborg) – 8 goals from 11 shots, 2 assists, Player of the Match. The playmaker shot 72.73% from the field and scored six goals in the second half alone, including the match-winning burst between 44:21 and 55:18. Four of her goals came on line-break through the centre.

Stine Broløs (Viborg) – 10 saves, 38.46% save rate. Her introduction in the 19th minute steadied the Viborg defence. Seven of her saves came in the second half, allowing Viborg to build a four-goal lead.

Maja Edling (Silkeborg-Voel) – 7 goals from 8 shots, 87.5% shooting. The left wing was the visitors' most efficient attacker, converting two of two penalty attempts and adding five regular goals.

Natasja Andreasen (Silkeborg-Voel) – 5 goals from 8 shots, 4 assists. The playmaker was involved in nine of Silkeborg-Voel's 25 goals, creating chances from the centre position.

Viborg's shot efficiency (62.2% to 58.3%) tells only part of the story. The decisive gap came in transition: Viborg scored 11 counter-attack goals to Silkeborg-Voel's four, and generated 10 fast-break scoring opportunities compared to the visitors' five. Silkeborg-Voel's efficiency from the penalty line (4/4, 100%) contrasted with Viborg's struggles (1/3, 33%), but that advantage was erased by the turnover differential and Viborg's superior depth in the second half.

Viborg move to 2–0 in the Bambusa Kvindeligaen — following a commanding 33–21 away win over Horsens on 26 August — and sit atop the early table alongside Odense Håndbold and Team Esbjerg. Head coach Anders Friis said before the season that squeezing into the top four was the objective for the grundspil. Two wins from two is precisely the start required.

Silkeborg-Voel (1–1) won their opener 30–24 against NordVestjysk Elite but have now lost 17 consecutive meetings with Viborg dating back to their last win in 2018. The KFUM side next host HØJ Elite Kvinder on 6 September.

Viborg face their first major test on 1 September when they travel to Ikast Håndbold — a fixture that kicks off at 20:00 and airs live on TV 2 Sport.

This was not the polished 60-minute performance of Viborg's opening-round demolition of Horsens, but the response to a 14–12 half-time deficit showed a side capable of adjusting and executing under pressure. Broløs's introduction proved decisive, and Martinsen's second-half display was the individual performance of the round so far. Silkeborg-Voel were competitive for 45 minutes but lack the defensive structure to contain Viborg's transition game over a full match.
