For the Faroe Islands, defeat ends a memorable debut campaign at an IHF World Championship. After entering the tournament via wildcard — replacing Australia following their withdrawal — the Faroese side earned their first-ever win at this level against Croatia and depart the preliminary round with heads held high. They will enter the President's Cup classification matches starting on 28 June, competing for positions 17-32.

Norway's next fixture is the main round opener, scheduled for 29 June 2026 against opponents to be confirmed from Groups E/F crossover. The Faroe Islands begin President's Cup play on 28 June.

Norway did what was required — no more, no less. Having recovered from the shock loss to Japan two days earlier, the two-time champions showed their resilience in a must-not-lose fixture. The Faroe Islands can leave Jinzhong proud of their historic debut, but the gulf in tournament experience and finishing quality ultimately proved too wide to bridge in the Group H decider.
