Hockey in the Netherlands is a minor sport, overshadowed by football, speed skating, and field hockey. The country fields 8 teams across 1 leagues, with the Dutch Cup as the top domestic competition. Despite limited participation numbers, Dutch hockey has a small but dedicated community of players and fans.

The Netherlands' strong tradition in ice sports (particularly speed skating) provides some cultural affinity with ice hockey, though the sport has struggled to build a significant competitive base.

Hockey has had a modest presence in the Netherlands since the 1930s. The Dutch Ice Hockey Federation was established in 1933, and the sport has maintained a small but loyal following ever since. The Netherlands Hockey league system features the Eredivisie as the top domestic division, with a small number of clubs competing. The league reflects the sport's niche status in Dutch sports, though clubs in Tilburg, Heerenveen, and other cities maintain competitive programmes.

The Netherlands national Hockey team competes in the lower divisions of the IIHF World Championship. While major international honours remain a distant goal, the Dutch programme continues to develop, and the country's strong tradition in other ice sports provides a foundation for potential future growth.

The Netherlands's Hockey infrastructure is limited but functional. The IJssportcentrum in Tilburg is one of the primary hockey venues, while ice rinks in Heerenveen, Eindhoven, and The Hague also host hockey matches. Most facilities are shared with other ice sports, reflecting the sport's secondary status.
