Bytom vs Valasske Mezirici

Bytom seized control inside the opening eight minutes. Dominik Jarosz opened the scoring at 07:32, finishing from close range after sustained pressure in the Valašské zone. Sebastian Wicher doubled the lead at 13:28, assisted by Kamienieu, and the hosts carried a 2-0 advantage into the first break.

The second period was a masterclass in ruthlessness. Mikolaj Kociszewski (33:58) made it 3-0, with Fadiejew and Worona providing the helpers. Christian Mroczkowski added the fourth at 35:54 from Padakin and Ošenieks, and Jarosz struck again at 37:30 to make it 5-0 — all three second-period goals arriving inside a devastating 3-minute, 32-second spell.

Padakin extended the lead to 6-0 at 49:28 before Valašské Meziříčí finally replied through Daniel Stodůlka (51:48), assisted by Ostrčil. But any hope of a Czech fightback was short-lived: Mateusz Bepierszcz restored the six-goal cushion at 54:01, and Jarosz completed his hat-trick with a power-play goal at 58:56, set up by Mroczkowski.

The three-goal blitz between 33:58 and 37:30 effectively ended the contest before the final period. Valašské Meziříčí had held firm through the opening 33 minutes despite trailing 2-0, but Bytom's sudden acceleration — three goals in 3:32 — shattered any structure the Czech visitors had built. The margin jumped from 2-0 to 5-0 in the space of a single period, and the game was beyond reach with 20 minutes still to play.

• Dominik Jarosz — three goals and one assist. The Bytom forward was the match-winner, scoring the opener, a second-period dagger, and the final goal on the power play. Unquestionably the Player of the Match.
• Christian Mroczkowski — one goal and two assists. A constant threat on the wing, his passing and finishing drove Bytom's second-period explosion.
• Padakin — one goal and one assist. Physical presence and a knack for arriving in the right areas kept the Valašské defence under relentless pressure.
• Daniel Stodůlka — scored the sole consolation for Valašské Meziříčí, a well-taken finish after a patient build-up through Ostrčil.

The 8-1 scoreline reflects a gulf in preparation and quality between a Polish top-flight side deep in pre-season (this was Bytom's fifth friendly of the summer) and a Czech third-tier opponent in the early stages of its own build-up. Bytom's first-period control (2-0) became second-period dominance (3-0 in that frame alone), and even after Valašské briefly stemmed the tide with Stodůlka's 52nd-minute goal, Bytom responded with two more in the final six minutes — including the power-play strike that underlined superior special-teams execution.

For Bytom, the result extends a promising pre-season run under head coach Andriej Gusow. The club finished 7th in the Tauron Hokej Liga regular season in 2025/26, and this performance — against a Czech opponent — suggests they are on track for the new campaign. Next up: a home friendly against KH Energa Toruń on 21 August, followed by a three-day tournament in Bytom from 28–30 August featuring Unia Oświęcim, Toruń, and Ukrainian side Sokół Kyiv.

For Valašské Meziříčí, this was a reality check. The HC Bobři play in the Czech 2. liga (third tier) and face a completely different level of opponent in pre-season. The return fixture is scheduled for 4 September in Czechia. Head coach Lukáš Plšek will be encouraged by his side's resilience in the opening 30 minutes but will want defensive improvements before the league campaign begins.

A dominant, no-contest friendly that told us more about Bytom's impressive pre-season sharpness than about anything Valašské Meziříčí did wrong. Jarosz's hat-trick was the headline, but Bytom's structured forecheck and clinical finishing from the second period onward were the real story. The Czech side will learn more from this defeat than they would from a narrow loss.
