First period — Kořenek strikes early

A straightforward pre-season win for the higher-tier side. Nový Jičín were the better team for longer periods and deserved the victory, but their 0-for-4 power play will be a focus area before competitive action begins. BO Ostrava's late second-period equaliser showed spirit, but they lacked the depth and finishing quality to sustain a comeback.
