Jastrzebie vs Poruba

Poruba exploded out of the blocks. Boris Kofman opened the scoring at 04:36, sliding a shot through the goaltender's pads from close range. Just 38 seconds later, at 05:14, defenceman Šimon Bialy doubled the lead with a precise finish off a feed from Roman Rác.

Jastrzębie had the better of the second period territorially and created two power-play opportunities, but Poruba's penalty kill stood firm. The Polish side's best chance came on a 2-on-1 rush — a forward had an open net but fired high and wide at 34:30.

Poruba nearly added a third when Zduba broke through one-on-one in the 50th minute but shot wide of the far post. Jastrzębie pulled goaltender Kacper Michalski for an extra attacker with 90 seconds remaining, yet Poruba's defence — anchored by a series of timely shot blocks — held firm to preserve the shutout.

Poruba's two-goal burst inside the first six minutes set the tone. Jastrzębie coach Rafał Bernacki had stressed a disciplined start, but his side conceded twice before establishing any rhythm. The early deficit forced Jastrzębie to chase the game, and despite enjoying two power plays in the middle frame, they could not find a way past Daniel Stuchlík.

Poruba reversed the pattern from their opening tournament game (a 3-5 loss to Martin where they conceded three goals in the middle period). Here, two first-period goals allowed them to protect a lead for 55 minutes. Jastrzębie went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Poruba's PK unit was flawless across both tournament games. This was the second match of the RT Torax Cup for both sides. Jastrzębie opened the tournament with a 1-3 loss to AZ Havířov on Thursday, while Poruba fell 3-5 to Slovakia's Rytieri Martin. Jastrzębie finish their tournament schedule on Saturday (22 August) against MHA Rytieri Martin at 16:00 local time, while Poruba face AZ Havířov at 19:15.

For Jastrzębie, who finished 5th in the Polish Ekstraliga last season (2025/26), this pre-season tour of Czech opposition is a key part of their preparation for the new campaign beginning 15 September. Poruba, playing in the Czech 2. liga (third tier), are building toward their league season under head coach Petr Fabian.

A clinical start and stubborn defence earned Poruba a deserved victory. Jastrzębie showed flashes of quality — particularly in the middle period — but their inability to convert possession into goals will be a concern for Bernacki with the season opener three weeks away. Stuchlík's clean sheet was the individual highlight on a night when Poruba proved ruthless in the moments that mattered.
