Storm's goal at 17:30 changed the momentum. Tranås had been ruthless on the power play (2/3 in the first period) and dominant at 5-on-5, but conceding before the intermission allowed Borås to reset. When Aunes Johansson scored 58 seconds into the second period, the energy in Borås Ishall shifted decisively.

Both clubs compete in HockeyEttan Södra in the upcoming regular season. Borås host Halmstad Hammers HC in their league opener on 25 September at Borås Ishall. Tranås visit Västerviks IK next (28 August) in the Sandströms Trophy tournament before their league campaign begins.

A game of two clear phases: Tranås' clinical first 13 minutes gave way to Borås' complete control over the final 40. The 5–3 scoreline flatters Tranås, who were outshot and outplayed for the majority of the match. Borås' resilience in recovering from 3-0 down is the encouraging takeaway, but the defensive vulnerability on the power play (two goals conceded from three short-handed situations) needs attention before the regular season.
