Jesper Peltonen (Lugano) — Scored Lugano's second goal and logged a team-high 24:27 of ice time with 3 shots and 2 blocked shots, but his defensive pairing with Lassi Thomson was caught out on Langnau's transition goals.

Lugano out-shot Langnau 39–33 overall and dominated the third period 22–11, yet lost. The gap tells the story: Langnau's faceoff dominance (60.7% vs 39.3%) gave them sustained possession through the middle of the game when they scored three unanswered goals. Lugano's only power-play opportunity came and went without a shot on net, while Langnau converted their sole man-advantage (Riikola, 44:35) — a 50% efficiency that turned the game. For Langnau, this result builds on a mixed pre-season — they beat Kloten (22 Aug) but lost to Ambri-Piotta (27 Aug). Lugano arrived in Sigirino after a 2–3 loss to TPST at the Bodensee Cup on 22 August. Neither side is peaking yet, but Langnau's resilience in recovering from 2–0 down is a positive sign with two weeks to go until the regular season.

A game of two halves — literally and figuratively. Lugano controlled the first ten minutes but were outplayed through the middle two periods, then dominated territorially in the third without solving Meyer.
