Lausitzer Fuchse vs Katowice

The hosts struck first at 07:22 when Clemens Sager collected a feed from behind the net by Christopher Theodore and slid the puck across the goal line to open the scoring (1–0). Katowice responded with sustained pressure, testing Füchse goaltender Lennart Neiße repeatedly, but the Berlin loanee held firm through the opening frame.

Broda's five-minute major for elbowing at 32:26 of the second period could have swung the momentum entirely toward Katowice. Instead, Füchse's penalty kill — rotating four forward units and a composed Neiße in net — absorbed the extended pressure without conceding. That sequence carried the 2–0 lead into the third period, and when Dosch made it 3–0 just over 12 minutes into the final frame, Katowice's path back was effectively blocked.

Füchse had three power-play goals from five opportunities, with all three coming in a 25-minute span from the latter half of the second period through the closing stages (Theodore 29:40, Dosch 52:35, Rundqvist 57:21). Katowice had two power-play opportunities and failed to score on either, including the five-minute major to John Broda — a sequence that saw Neiße make four saves of above-average danger.

The 5–2 scoreline reflects a clinical power-play display more than territorial dominance. Katowice generated plenty of chances in the second period but found Neiße in top form. Füchse's shot selection on the power play — especially Rundqvist's top-corner finish and Dosch's tight-angle strike — was notably precise where Katowice's was not.

Lausitzer Füchse extended their pre-season record to 3-0-0, having won the SC Riessersee tournament the previous weekend with victories over Saale Bulls Halle (5–1) and EC Bad Nauheim (2–1 SO). For head coach Christof Kreutzer, the special-teams efficiency and the five-minute kill will be the most encouraging takeaway against a Katowice side that finished as Polish runners-up last season.

A pre-season friendly, but one that revealed genuine structure: Füchse's penalty kill passed its sternest test of the summer, three power-play units converted with efficiency, and Neiße showed why the Eisbären Berlin partnership continues into its tenth season. Katowice will want more from a five-minute power play that yielded nothing.
