Prešov had protected a 2–1 lead through the second intermission, but Acolatse's equaliser at 40:37 — just 37 seconds after the puck dropped — erased that advantage and swung momentum decisively. Liptovský added two more goals within the next nine minutes while Prešov took three minor penalties in the frame.

Prešov's discipline unravelled in the final frame: three minor penalties (Kobolka, Hamráček, D. Hudec) in the third period alone, the last two arriving back-to-back during the sequence that led to Vojtech's go-ahead goal. Liptovský took six minors across the game but killed all four Prešov power plays. The visitors' penalty kill has now held opponents scoreless in three of four pre-season outings.

Liptovský Mikuláš remain perfect in pre-season at 4–0 (wins over Michalovce, Sosnowiec, Cracovia Krakow and now Prešov). Prešov drop to 1–4, with their lone victory coming against Polish champions GKS Tychy on 20 August.

Prešov's new-look first line — Smith, Archibald and Jeri-Leon — showed genuine chemistry in the middle periods, but discipline issues and a slow start to the third period undid their best work. Liptovský Mikuláš, by contrast, look pre-season-ready: they absorb pressure, strike quickly on transition, and have the depth to change a game from the blue line.
