Krasny Yar Krasnoyarsk vs Slava Moscow

Krasny Yar struck first inside four minutes. Lock Allen De Wit crashed over after sustained multi-phase pressure, and fly-half Jason Taumalolo converted for a 7-0 lead.

Slava responded through their playmaker Yan Bazhenov. He slotted a penalty in the eighth minute to make it 7-3, then dotted down his own try three minutes later — bursting through the middle to level the scores. Bazhenov's conversion put Slava ahead 10-7.

Bazhenov was substituted late in the first half with a suspected facial bone injury, a significant blow for the visitors. Flanker Khazhi Umarov was also carrying a knock for Slava.

The tempo dropped after the interval but Krasny Yar continued to score. Vladimir Chaban, given a rare start by Beyers, sliced through on the left wing in the 44th minute to make it 33-10.

Islam Abdulqadirov added a sixth try in the 53rd minute, with Semyonov converting. Lawrence Pretorius completed the scoring in the 75th minute, finishing off a lineout drive that epitomised Krasny Yar's set-piece dominance.

Bazhenov's injury late in the first half was decisive. The Slava fly-half had been the creative hub of his team — scoring all 10 of their points and looking dangerous with ball in hand. After he departed, Slava failed to threaten Krasny Yar's line in the second half, managing no points and scant territory inside the hosts' 22.

Beyers said post-match: "We wanted to control the tempo of the game, put pressure on the opponent with scrums and mauls, earn penalties and enter their 22."

Slava's 10 points all arrived in the first 12 minutes, and they added nothing after Bazhenov's departure. The visitors managed no tries from open play, with Bazhenov's solo effort the only time they breached the try line.

Krasny Yar rise to fourth in the Premier League table with 21 points from nine games (4 wins, 5 losses), now seven points clear of fifth-placed Lokomotiv. A top-four finish would secure a play-off berth. Slava Moscow remain seventh and last with 7 points from nine matches (1 win, 8 losses), 12 points adrift of safety.
