Head coach Zack Test said after the tournament: "A rough road shapes the character of a team, and the character of this team definitely showed this past weekend what we're building — and building something special."

Captain Stephen Tomasin added: "Exhausted, stressed, relieved, proud. Those are a few of the words I would use to describe how we're feeling."

Uruguay, having finished bottom of Pool B, played in the 9th-place bracket. Their next competitive action will be in the HSBC SVNS 2 series, having failed to qualify for the top tier.
