Marcos Moneta needed just four minutes to add three more tries to his career tally, starting the day on 199 and finishing on 202 with his 10th career hat-trick. The Pumas Sevens star scored in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd minutes — a lightning treble that effectively settled the 9th Place Play-Off before Germany could draw breath.

Argentina ran in seven tries in total — two from Juan Patricio Batac (both at 9'), and one each from Santiago Alvarez (13') and Matteo Graziano (14') — to close a turbulent season on a high. Germany managed three tries through Anton Gleitze (6', 11') and Wolfram Hacker (7'), but were never within striking distance after Moneta's opening burst.

Argentina finished with 6/7 conversions (86%) against Germany's 2/3 (67%), out-gaining their opponents 279 metres to 242 and beating 12 defenders to Germany's 6.

The match was effectively over inside four minutes. Moneta's third try — his 10th hat-trick at this level — gave Argentina a 21–0 lead before Germany had made a meaningful attacking entry. The Pumas' seven-point-per-minute start forced Germany to chase from the outset, a deficit that proved insurmountable even as Gleitze and Hacker struck back.

The 6/7 conversion rate (86%) was tournament-standard for a side of Argentina's quality, while Germany's 2/3 left Gleitze's unconverted opening try as a missed opportunity in a match that demanded 40+ to compete.

Germany's four penalties conceded to Argentina's three, plus a yellow card, marginally disrupted their defensive structure during key phases.

Argentina finish the HSBC SVNS World Championship season in 9th place overall — a disappointing position relative to their runner-up finish in the 2023–24 series, but enough to retain their main HSBC SVNS tour status for 2027. Germany, competing in the World Championship Series for the first time as a Division 2 entrant, finish 10th and return to HSBC SVNS 2 for 2027.

USA's dramatic fifth-place finish, sealed by Lucas Lacamp's last-gasp try against Fiji, denied Kenya the final main-tour spot. The top eight men's teams for the 2027 main tour are: South Africa, New Zealand, Spain, Australia, Argentina, Fiji, France, USA.

Both sides now enter the off-season ahead of the 2027 campaign, which begins with Dubai SVNS 1 in November 2026.

Moneta's four-minute hat-trick was the defining statement of a season that fell short of Argentina's ambitions. Germany competed admirably in patches — Gleitze's brace and Hufnagel's perfect kicking offered moments of promise — but the gulf in individual class was decisive.
