Fiji struck before the match had settled. Sevuloni Satala crossed in the opening minute, catching the Georgian defence cold. Marika Koroi added a second try in the 24th minute, converted by Cale Maurice, and Isoa Koroinawai made it three in the 37th minute to send Fiji into the break 17-0 up.
