Bosnia and Herzegovina — Volleyball

Volleyball in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been developing since independence, building on traditions from the Yugoslav era. The Premijer liga features 9 clubs across 1 competitions.

While Bosnia and Herzegovina is not among Europe's volleyball powers, the sport has a dedicated community and the federation continues to develop domestic competition.

Volleyball was played in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Yugoslav period. After independence and the war, the Volleyball Federation was established in 1992, and domestic competition was gradually rebuilt.

Bosnian volleyball has focused on rebuilding and developing the sport since the 1990s, with clubs beginning to participate in European cup competitions in the 2000s.

The Volleyball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina governs the sport in the country. Founded in 1992, it is a member of the CEV and FIVB.

The Premier Liga is the top division of volleyball in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bosnia and Herzegovina Volleyball Cup provides knockout competition.

Bosnia and Herzegovina's volleyball programme has been focused on development since independence. The national team competes in European and World Championship qualification rounds.
