Brazil's men's team won their first Olympic gold at Barcelona 1992, followed by gold at Athens 2004 and a historic triumph at Rio 2016 in front of a home crowd. The team also won three World Championship titles (2002, 2006, 2010). The women's team has been equally successful, winning Olympic gold in 2008 and 2012 and multiple World Grand Prix titles.
