Serbia is a major volleyball nation with outstanding success in both men's and women's competitions. The Liga features 58 clubs across 5 competitions.

Volleyball has deep roots in Serbia through the Yugoslav era. Yugoslavia won men's Olympic gold at Sydney 2000 in one of the most memorable finals in the sport's history.

After the Volleyball Federation of Serbia was established in 2006, Serbia's women's programme rose to become one of the world's best. The women's team won the World Championship in 2018 and Olympic silver at Rio 2016. Serbian volleyball combines Yugoslav heritage with modern excellence.

The Volleyball Federation of Serbia (Odbojkaski Savez Srbije) governs volleyball in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is a member of the CEV and FIVB.

The Serbian Volleyball Super League is the top division of volleyball in Serbia. The Serbian Volleyball Cup provides knockout competition.

Serbia inherits Yugoslavia's Olympic gold from Sydney 2000.
