Iran entered the match already assured of progression but with top spot in Pool E still to seal. They did so in emphatic fashion, never allowing Chinese Taipei to establish a foothold.

Set 1 (25-15): Iran came out firing from the first whistle. A dominant serving run and sharp attacking through the middle forced Chinese Taipei into early errors. Iran's blocking presence at the net — a feature of their tournament so far — restricted Chinese Taipei's primary attacking options, and the set was effectively decided midway through as Iran opened a commanding lead they never relinquished.

Set 2 (25-21): Chinese Taipei responded with greater composure in the second set. They tightened their defence and found more rhythm in attack, keeping the scoreline competitive deep into the set. However, Iran's superior depth and the attacking output of captain Sina Hazrati proved decisive in the closing stages. Iran pulled away from 20-20 to take the set 25-21, leaving Chinese Taipei needing a near-perfect third set to extend the match.

Set 3 (25-15): Any hopes of a Chinese Taipei fightback were quickly extinguished. Iran reasserted total control, racing to a comfortable lead behind a relentless service game and efficient transition attacks. Chinese Taipei had no answer to Iran's pressure at the net, and the set — and match — ended in a one-sided 25-15 scoreline, matching the first set's margin.

The opening exchanges of the second set were the closest the match came to a genuine contest. Chinese Taipei, having lost the first set with little resistance, matched Iran point-for-point up to 20-20. But Iran's ability to raise their level in the decisive moments — particularly through captain Sina Hazrati's attacking output and Azhvan Namazi's blocking — swung the set and effectively ended the match as a contest. From 20-20, Iran won five of the next six points to take a 2-0 lead, and Chinese Taipei's resistance crumbled in the third.

Sina Hazrati (Iran U17): The captain delivered another captain's performance, leading Iran's scoring with his combination of power attacks and intelligent shot placement. He was the go-to option in the critical moments of the second set.

Arash Ashrafi (Iran U17): Building on his 16-point display against Pakistan two days earlier, Ashrafi again provided efficient attacking output, converting at a high rate and contributing at the service line.

Azhvan Namazi (Iran U17): A commanding presence at the net, Namazi's blocking disrupted Chinese Taipei's attacking patterns throughout. Iran's team total of blocks reflected his impact in the middle.

Player of the Match: Sina Hazrati (Iran U17)

Iran's 3-0 victory extended their set-winning streak in Doha to nine consecutive sets across three matches, having not dropped a single set in the preliminary phase. The 25-15 scorelines in the first and third sets illustrated the gulf between the sides on the day: Iran outclassed Chinese Taipei in every key phase of the game. Chinese Taipei, who had staged a stirring five-set comeback to beat Algeria two days earlier (20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 15-12), could not replicate that resilience against an Iran side firing on all cylinders.

Iran's service pressure — a key factor in their 3-0 wins over Algeria and Pakistan — was again decisive, preventing Chinese Taipei from building consistent attacking rhythm.

Iran finish top of Pool E with a perfect 9 points from three matches (3-0 vs Algeria, 3-0 vs Pakistan, 3-0 vs Chinese Taipei), securing their place in the eighthfinals (round of 16) as one of the tournament's form teams. They have yet to drop a set in Doha.

Chinese Taipei finish the preliminary phase with 2 points from their 3-2 win over Algeria. Their progress to the knockout stage depends on the ranking of third-placed teams across the five pools. Pakistan (3 points) face Algeria on 24 August in the final Pool E fixture.

For Iran, the knockout phase begins later this week at Aspire Zone in Doha. Chinese Taipei await the outcome of the third-placed rankings to learn their fate.

Iran have been the most dominant side in Pool E, sweeping all three opponents without conceding a set. Their balance of power hitting, blocking and service pressure makes them a genuine contender as the tournament enters the knockout rounds. Chinese Taipei, despite flashes of spirit in the second set, lacked the tools to trouble an Iran side operating at a different level.
