Jeff McNeil, Athletics — 4-for-5, HR, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 R. McNeil singled in the first, doubled in the second, homered in the sixth, and added a two-run double in the eighth that capped the scoring. He needed a triple for the cycle but settled for his second four-hit game of the season.

Jake Burger, Rangers — 1-for-4, HR, 3 RBI. His sixth-inning blast tied the game and represented the entirety of Texas's run production. The Rangers managed only four hits as a team.

Luis Medina, Athletics — 1.1 IP, 0 ER, 2 K. The right-hander (3-3) entered after Jump's exit and stranded both inherited runners to earn the win.

Carlos Cortes, Athletics — 1-for-3 with a bases-clearing double, 3 RBI, and a walk. His first-inning hit was the biggest of the night until McNeil's homer.

The Athletics outhit the Rangers 9-4 and drew five walks to Texas's three. Despite Sutter Health Park's reputation as a bandbox — averaging over three home runs per game this season, per the MLB broadcast — all three homers came on legitimate drives: Burger (413 ft), McNeil (381 ft), and Butler (402 ft). The Rangers' four hits tied a season low, and they went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position against five Athletics pitchers. Oakland's bullpen (Medina, D.C. Rom, Elvis Alvarado, Hunter Harris) combined for 3.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out four.

The Rangers (61-63) sit second in the AL West, two games behind Houston, with a wild-card deficit of 0.5 games entering August 16. The Athletics (48-75) remain last in the division, 14.5 games back, but have won five of their last 11 against AL West opponents. McNeil has been on an absolute tear since the All-Star break, and Friday was his most complete performance of the season. For a Rangers team chasing a wild-card berth, dropping a game in which their starter issued five walks and their lineup managed four hits is a missed opportunity they can ill afford with six weeks left in the regular season.
